  • 2 oz Whiskey Bourbon or Rye
  • 3/4 oz fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • Ice cubes or crushed ice

Garnish

  • Lemon wheel for garnish
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish
  • Angostura bitters optional, for added complexity

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Your Glass: Start by chilling your glass. Fill it with ice or place it in the freezer while you gather your ingredients.
  • Mix the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add ice to the shaker, about halfway full.
  • Shake: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold to the touch.
  • Strain and Serve: Remove the ice from your chilled glass. Strain the cocktail into the glass using a fine mesh strainer or the built-in strainer of the shaker.
  • Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with a lemon wheel and a cherry. Optionally, add a dash of Angostura bitters for a more complex flavor.

Notes

Not keto-friendly due to sugar content. Garnishes are optional but enhance presentation and flavor. Adjust sweetness to taste by modifying simple syrup amount.
